🎉 Congratulations, New insight on Unlocking Deep-Red Photodetection in Lead-Free Double Perovskite Single Crystals
We are pleased to share that our latest study“Unlocking Beyond-Bandgap Photodetection in Cs2AgBiBr6 Single Crystals through Thermal Activation” lead by Prof. Daniel Prochowicz* and Dr. Apurba Mahapatra* has been published in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces.
This study demonstrates deep-red photodetection at 720 nm in lead-free Cs₂AgBiBr₆ double perovskite single crystals through controlled thermal treatment. At 343 K and a bias voltage of 4 V, the photodetector achieves a responsivity of 0.70 A W⁻¹ and a specific detectivity of 3.75 × 10¹¹ Jones. Using photoacoustic spectroscopy, we further reveal that thermally activated absorption associated with deep defect states enables photodetection beyond the material’s intrinsic bandgap. The study also investigates photodetection performance under prolonged thermal stress, offering valuable insights into the potential of lead-free double perovskites for stable optoelectronic applications.
Congratulations to all the authors and collaborators on this excellent achievement!
